Video is a Social Medium
Video is an emotive medium which is why so much entertainment is in video form. It is an equally effective medium to inform and educate. People would rather watch a short "how-to" video than wade through pages of an instruction manual. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a 33 second video is worth a thousand pictures (at 30 fps).
